What’s Changing?Updated 16 days ago

As part of new government regulations, disposable vapes will no longer be available in New Zealand from 17th June 2025. This means all single-use vape products will be phased out, and customers will need to switch to reusable pod-based systems.

Other changes include:

  • In-store: Vaping devices, products, and packaging may no longer be displayed by General Retailers. This means products might be under the counter or inside a closed-door cabinet. Specialist Vape Retailers must ensure these items are not visible from outside their stores but can display the product. SVRs may look slightly different, with some adopting window film or new store layouts.

  • Online: Websites will no longer be allowed to display vaping products, including product images. As we work to comply, expect to see changes to our website over the coming months.

  • Promotions, discounts and giveaways: Free product giveaways, discounts and rewards on vaping products will be banned. This means alt. PERKS will be ending. More information here.
